The Clerk
The church-elected clerk keeps records of all church actions, including a register of members with dates of admission, dismissal, and death, as well as reports of baptisms. The clerk issues letters of dismissal, files communications and official reports, and provides legal notice for meetings as required by bylaws. Responsibilities also include maintaining church records and files, organizing business matters, handling mailing lists and calendar, managing correspondence, informing pastors, deacons, and trustees of business matters, recording meeting minutes, and updating the association on changes to church officers.
